JOB PURPOSE:
The Vice President of Credit Risk Policy & Analysis plays a critical role within the Group Credit Risk team, focusing on the Wholesale Banking and International Banking Portfolio. The primary responsibilities include ensuring that the portfolio remains within the group's risk appetite, identifying any potential deterioration in portfolio quality early, and conducting comprehensive reviews of the asset quality. Key responsibilities encompass:
- Conducting credit reviews for proposals submitted to the Credit Evaluation Committee (CEC) and Business Management Committee (BMC).
- Managing approvals and monitoring of Country Risk Limits and Industry Risk Limits.
- Reviewing and updating policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- Overseeing the IFRS 9 staging and provisioning processes for Wholesale Banking and International Banking, in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Analyzing asset quality, impairment charges, coverage ratios, and cost of risk by business segment for Wholesale Banking and International Banking.
- Preparing detailed monthly dashboards and analytical reports segmented by business and management.
- Conducting credit risk reporting and analysis, focusing on asset quality, impairment adequacy, and credit portfolio monitoring.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:
- Implementing group-wide credit risk policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant procedural and legislative requirements.
Group-wide Asset Quality Review:
- Monitoring overdue lines through the Past Due Not Impairment (PDNI) process.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to gather PDNI data and track action plans.
- Preparing reports for CEC and regulatory bodies regarding credit quality and the PDNI portfolio.
- Proactively identifying potential signs of credit portfolio deterioration.
Group-wide Risk Analysis and Presentation:
- Creating detailed risk presentations for the CCB, IB, and international portfolios for CEC, Board Risk & Compliance Committee (BRCC), and Group Risk Committee (GRCC).
- Conducting risk analysis and producing thematic reports for senior management.
- Reviewing ECL files and aiding in ECL optimization efforts.
Group-wide Regulatory Reporting, Liaison, and Compliance:
- Preparing and ensuring the accuracy of regulatory reports related to PDNI.
- Supporting the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team with risk-related regulatory reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with both internal and external policies and standards.
Credit Reviews – Funding Programs:
- Reviewing credit proposals for CEC under CCB, IB, and international corporate entities.
- Providing feedback on product programs and credit policies.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and the sustainability of processes.
