Smith Engineering is on the lookout for a dynamic Vice President for our Energy Group, who will become a pivotal member of our Executive Leadership Team in the vibrant New York Metro area. This role will involve a blend of time spent in our Manhattan office and at various client locations.

Your Role
We invite you to take on the role of Vice President, Energy Group. This key executive position is responsible for steering the strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial success of the Energy Group. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be tasked with executing the business plan faithfully and achieving or surpassing P&L targets. You will be at the forefront of driving growth, innovation, and delivering premium energy engineering and retro-commissioning solutions for sophisticated commercial and institutional facilities.
Your comfort in engaging with executive leadership and presenting insights and strategies to a diverse range of stakeholders, including Chief Engineers, building managers, and senior management, is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
1. Group Strategy and P&L Leadership
Oversee the Energy Group's Profit & Loss (P&L): Formulate and implement a robust business plan while meeting or exceeding all financial and operational goals, ensuring group efficiency and productivity.
Drive Strategic Growth: Identify, cultivate, and lead new strategic initiatives, market entry strategies, and service line expansion opportunities to enhance business growth and market presence.
Executive Oversight: Deliver high-level direction and accountability for all group operations, including energy conservation, retro-commissioning (retro-Cx), and performance testing projects, ensuring seamless execution from inception through implementation.
Forecasting and Budget Management: Oversee the complete group budget, resource allocation, and long-term financial forecasting.
2. Team Leadership and Management
Lead and Cultivate Talent: Provide direction and support for team development, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth.
