Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant field, with 12+ years of pertinent experience, including 4+ years in a leadership role such as Program Manager or Senior Project Manager.Proven track record in business development, capture planning, and proposal development.Preferred / Desired QualificationsExtensive experience in managing complex water resources projects, encompassing scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.Demonstrated success in delivering projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, particularly within the New York District, as well as state and local government clients.Experience in leading multidisciplinary project teams and effectively managing workload, schedules, and delivery metrics.Strong commitment to staff development, mentorship, and performance management.Expertise in NY/NJ water resource regulations and practices.

AECOM is seeking a dynamic Vice President, Water Resources Practice Leader to drive growth, enhance client engagement, and oversee project execution in the New York/New Jersey region. This leadership role will manage a multidisciplinary team of 10 to 20 professionals, delivering planning and architectural and engineering (A&E) services primarily for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as well as state and local government clients.
The VP will serve as a seller/doer Senior Manager, collaborating closely with regional leadership and growth teams, including both Department of Defense and civilian agency market sector teams, to support strategic capture planning, proposal development, and key project pursuits. Responsibilities will include crafting pursuit strategies, closing pipeline gaps, creating compliant and competitive bid packages, and fostering strong relationships with key clients. This role is instrumental in bolstering business planning activities and ensuring the continuous growth of the NY/NJ Water Resources practice.
In this position, the Senior Manager will provide daily leadership to interdisciplinary teams engaged in complex water resources projects such as coastal storm and flood risk management, stormwater infrastructure, flood mitigation, and dam and reservoir management. Emphasis will be placed on delivery excellence, technical quality, risk management, mentorship of staff, and effective collaboration across various disciplines and geographical locations.
