The San Francisco Department of Elections is excited to announce openings for the seasonal position of Voting Center Voter Guide in preparation for the upcoming June 2, 2026 Statewide Direct Primary Election. This vital role involves guiding voters through each step of the voting journey—from entering the Voting Center to casting their ballot. In addition, personnel will respond to general inquiries from voters. Following Election Day, there may be opportunities to assist with processing returned ballots.
The ideal candidate will exhibit traits such as active listening, empathy, problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities. We seek individuals who can quickly grasp new information, maintain exceptional customer service standards in a high-pressure environment, and foster a positive and collaborative atmosphere with colleagues.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing assistance and answering questions for voters at the Voting Center.
- Guiding voters to ballot-issuing stations and voting booths.
- Ensuring orderly lines for voters.
- Assisting with the drop-off process for voted ballots.
- Collecting ballots from designated Drop Boxes.
- Setting up and dismantling signage.
- Supporting post-election tasks as needed.
This role requires standing for extended periods and the ability to lift, pull, or push items weighing up to 25 lbs.
