AECOM is proud to have a dynamic and extensive Water Team with a global presence. With around 600 professionals located in our UK and Ireland offices, we continuously innovate to lead the industry, and we're eager to find skilled, passionate individuals to enhance our team.
Our Water Team in Scotland is engaged in a variety of impactful projects that are vital for developing sustainable and resilient water systems for future generations. Recently, we secured a significant project with Scottish Water’s SR27 Enterprise, where AECOM has been selected as the preferred bidder for one of the two Primary Designers. This multi-billion-pound initiative is the largest investment by Scottish Water to transform water and wastewater infrastructure from 2027 to 2033, with the potential for a 6-year extension.
AECOM will play a critical role in this innovative delivery model, focusing on design excellence while collaborating with Scottish Water and our Enterprise Partners to create outcomes that deliver value for Scottish customers and commit to surpassing net zero targets. This is a remarkable opportunity for us to contribute to meaningful projects that will positively impact communities throughout Scotland. Join us in this exciting endeavor and work with a diverse, talented team that values innovation and efficiency.
Additional key projects we are currently involved in include:
- Scottish Water Capital Programme: Through our CWA joint venture, we're engaged in the DV2 Design & Build programme and the SR21 investment strategy, designing and implementing critical infrastructure such as pipelines, pumping stations, and sewer upgrades throughout Scotland.
- Flood & Surface Water Management: To create flood-resilient communities and enhance sustainability, we are assisting in the implementation of flood solutions, including the integration of blue/green infrastructure and Natural Flood Management techniques in urban settings.
- Climate Resilience & Low-Carbon Design: We are pioneering innovations in climate resilience by utilizing gravity-fed systems, carbon-efficient materials, and renewable technologies to future-proof vital water infrastructure.
- Remote & Rural Delivery: We are addressing complex engineering challenges in some of Scotland’s most isolated areas, such as the Western Isles, with a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility and reliability.
- Water Innovation & SME Collaboration: We are supporting the Hydro Nation agenda through technology pilots and validation services for emerging innovators in the water sector.
