What Will You Do?
We are currently looking for a full-time Water Treatment and Distribution Operator to join the Adelanto Public Utility Authority team in Adelanto, CA. In this role, you will report to the Project Manager, who serves as the Chief Operator of the system. Collaborating with a dedicated team of five, you will engage in the daily operations and maintenance of the drinking water treatment and distribution systems. The Adelanto Public Utility Authority manages 12 groundwater wells, 2 water interconnects, 165 miles of pipelines, nearly 10,000 water services, 6 reservoirs, 3 booster pump stations, and 1 treatment plant, along with a 3-zone distribution system.

Work is carried out safely and professionally, adhering to established safety protocols, operational guidelines, and emergency response procedures. Operators will participate in an on-call rotation to ensure system coverage outside regular hours, which may include weekends. Additionally, operators will need to respond to emergencies and work in adverse weather conditions when necessary.
Work Schedule:
The standard work schedule is five days a week, with eight-hour shifts.
