WBNS-10TV in Columbus, Ohio, a proud TEGNA CBS affiliate, is thrilled to announce an opening for a dynamic and creative journalist to take on the role of Weekend Morning Anchor and Multi-Skilled Journalist.
This position is perfect for a compelling storyteller who excels in both anchoring and reporting. The chosen candidate will anchor weekend morning broadcasts and serve as an MSJ during the weekdays or as required by newsroom demands. We seek a journalist who is proficient in breaking news, investigative reporting, and accountability journalism and is deeply committed to serving the central Ohio community.
The ideal anchor/MSJ will be an effective on-camera communicator, confidently leading weekend coverage while also crafting original stories during the week. A profound understanding of the context behind the news and a dedication to impactful journalism across broadcast, streaming, and digital formats is essential.
This role demands a newsroom leader who builds strong relationships throughout the Columbus area, nurtures trusted sources, and produces captivating, original content. The candidate should be adept at working autonomously in the field while also collaborating with producers and newsroom leadership to create engaging and innovative newscasts.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a news gathering vehicle are mandatory.
Weekend Anchor Responsibilities:
Anchor weekend morning newscasts exhibiting strong editorial judgment and engaging presentation.
Collaborate with producers to shape weekend newscast content and coverage priorities.
Deliver breaking news and evolving stories accurately and confidently.
Assist in leading editorial decision-making during weekend shifts.
