About the Youth Health Clinic
The Youth Health Clinic at each1 is an integral part of our Youth Mental Health Stream, providing comprehensive clinical services across headspace centres, schools, and community partnerships. Our mission is to support young individuals aged 12–25 in their mental health, physical health, and overall wellbeing. We prioritize equity, cultural safety, and person-centred care, ensuring that young people feel valued and supported.
Your Role and Impact
As a Youth Mental Health Nurse, you will be essential in delivering high-quality, evidence-based primary healthcare in collaboration with GPs, headspace staff, local schools, and other youth-focused services. You will assist young people in addressing their physical, mental, and sexual health needs, including support for alcohol and drug use, providing holistic, youth-friendly care.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Engaging therapeutically with young people aged 12–25, offering assessment and ongoing support
- Providing clinical services within our headspace GP Clinics and the “Doctors in Secondary Schools” initiative
- Conducting thorough health assessments, including mental state evaluations, risk assessments, and HEADDs assessments
- Collaborating with GPs, school wellbeing teams, and external services to create integrated care plans
- Delivering clinical education, health promotion, and referrals for AOD, sexual health, mental health, and physical wellbeing
- Maintaining precise and timely clinical documentation and contributing to service reporting
About You
You are a caring and skilled nurse who enjoys engaging with young people and collaborating with community partners.
You Possess:
- Current registration as a Division 1 Nurse with AHPRA
- Post-graduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing
- Experience working with young individuals facing mental health challenges
- Clinical expertise in physical, sexual, and mental health, including AOD
- Strong communication skills with young people and families
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- High proficiency in computer use and experience with EMR systems
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license

- Postgraduate qualifications in adolescent health, sexual and reproductive health, or mental health
- Experience in youth, community health, or school-based settings
