We are seeking skilled Kotlin specialists who can analyze real-world engineering scenarios, such as bug reports or feature requests from a Git repository, and deliver clean, efficient, idiomatic solutions using the Kotlin programming language. Your task will involve creating high-quality code patches that adhere to contemporary Android development standards, ensuring technical accuracy, maintainability, and clarity.
Successful candidates should possess hands-on experience in modern Android and Kotlin development, including technologies like Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Coroutines, and essential Jetpack libraries such as Room, WorkManager, Datastore, ViewModel, and Hilt. Familiarity with build.gradle configurations, dependency management, and networking libraries like OkHttp, Retrofit, and Coil is also essential. Experience with Android multimedia tools such as CameraX, ExoPlayer, and Media3 will be an added advantage.
On a typical day, you will assess AI-generated code, rectify errors, implement optimized Kotlin solutions, and document best practices that reflect modern Android design patterns and coding conventions.
A solid background in Android software development is required, with demonstrable experience in building and maintaining production-level Kotlin applications. Effective communication skills and the ability to articulate technical decisions are essential for this role.
We offer a competitive pay rate starting at $35 per hour, with the exact compensation determined based on your experience, expertise, and location. Please note that as a contractor, you will need to provide your own secure computer and high-speed internet; company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance and PTO are not included.
