Education: High School Diploma or Technical degree in Soil, Concrete, Materials Laboratory, or related fields. Experience:3 years of experience as a laboratory technician in labs and/or projects related to the quality control of construction materials.1 year of experience as a laboratory technician in labs and/or projects related to the quality control of construction materials. Must possess a C1 driver's license and be TOE certified.

About the job

  • Conduct all necessary tasks related to the preparation of materials, spaces, and environments required for testing and analysis.
  • Handle samples and execute tests as authorized by the immediate supervisor, in accordance with testing standards and the international NTC-ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, while adhering to client commitments. Report any deviations during the process to the supervisor.
  • Perform field tests after receiving prior approval from the supervisor and verify the quantity and traceability of samples sent to the laboratory.
  • Maintain the laboratory and equipment in optimal operational conditions, ensuring both technical and hygienic safety of the assigned work areas.
  • Complete all records related to the tests conducted and submit them to the designated official or supervisor as per established procedures, ensuring confidentiality of client information.
  • Conduct work with the utmost ethical standards, fostering trust and credibility with clients regarding the competence of personnel involved in procedures and results. It is the responsibility to report any undue pressures, whether internal or external, that may adversely affect work quality to the supervisor.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of the Quality Management System by complying with procedures, process characteristics, and work instructions relevant to normal performance.
  • Maintain the assigned vehicle in perfect condition and report any issues regarding its operation.
  • Receive and verify the collection route of material samples received daily, efficiently completing the collection according to client project requirements, ensuring they receive their respective results report as per established procedures.
  • Interact on-site with the engineer or storekeeper responsible for sample collection, ensuring samples are fully documented according to procedure.
  • Drive the transport vehicle efficiently, adhering to established routes and schedules.
  • Operate and take responsibility for the proper use of the assigned vehicle and/or machinery, tools, and related equipment.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the assigned vehicle and/or machinery to meet quality and timeliness requirements.
