Your Role:
Nexamp is seeking a Lead Commissioning Engineer to become a key member of our Clean Energy Deployment team. In this role, you will ensure that Nexamp projects are energized safely and reliably according to schedule, progressing through key project phases such as Mechanical Completion (MC), Permission to Operate (PTO), and Substantial Completion (SC). Your expertise in SCADA and data acquisition will be essential across both utility-scale and distributed generation projects, validating asset performance as per financial and operational expectations. Taking charge of the technical review and implementation of SCADA and related controls, you will facilitate project activation, adhere to critical timelines, and ensure operational performance meets contractual, market, and internal standards.
We support a hybrid work model out of our Boston or Chicago offices, reporting directly to the Director of Commissioning Engineering.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead the commissioning of PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) independently from pre-energization to project operational turnover.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Utilize advanced SCADA technology and data acquisition methods for performance validation.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables while addressing any technical challenges that arise.
- Engage with stakeholders, including financing partners, banks, and utility companies, to align on project expectations.
