Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:Over 10 years of experience in aircraft wiring engineering and design. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Proficient in using Wiring CAD software, specifically Mentor Graphics Capital, HarnessXC, and Logic. In-depth knowledge of Aerospace/Military Specification wiring components and assembly procedures. Hands-on experience with the fabrication and inspection processes for wire harnesses. Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with EWIS concepts and certification, along with experience related to FAA AC 25.1701.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Create comprehensive wiring diagrams and detailed wire harness documentation utilizing Mentor Graphics Capital, Logic, and HarnessXC.
  • Adhere to industry best practices and standards for the design and installation of wire harnesses (AC 43.13-1B, AS50881, ASTM F2639).
  • Collaborate with avionics, power plant, and electrical engineering teams to define system architecture and wiring connections, including grounding strategies and EMI mitigation techniques.
  • Leverage your expertise in standard industry components to select the best parts tailored to specific design applications and requirements.
  • Identify and test custom or innovative components designed for unique applications that are not currently available in the market, such as high voltage (600V+) connectors and specialized wire insulations.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and testing of wiring during aircraft initialization, testing, and operation, providing solutions and rework instructions as necessary.
  • Develop and enhance harness assembly procedures and build instructions.
  • Employ effective configuration and change management skills to maintain oversight of component changes throughout the aircraft's lifecycle.
