LegalMatch is looking for a Lead Principal Software Engineer with strong Java full stack skills to help set the technical direction for the engineering team. This is a remote position based in Cebu City, Central Visayas, Philippines. The role blends hands-on coding with leadership, focusing on building essential features and refining existing systems. Both independent work and close collaboration with other engineers are central to this position.
What you will do
- Direct the design, development, and deployment of new software systems and enhancements to current platforms.
- Lead by example through hands-on coding, taking ownership of core features and systems, and shaping solutions as requirements change.
- Encourage a collaborative and creative environment to support complex software projects.
- Work with scrum masters, project managers, and engineers to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain cloud, web, mobile, and desktop applications.
- Make sure projects are delivered on schedule and meet quality standards.
- Use AI tools to improve development processes, increase efficiency, and assist with debugging and solution validation.
- Stay up to date with new tools and AI-assisted development practices, sharing insights with the team.
- Promote high standards of software quality by setting best practices and encouraging good habits.
- Offer regular feedback, coaching, and career development support to team members.
- Analyze root causes of system issues and help resolve production-related concerns as needed.
