Weekday-1 is hiring a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer to drive the quality approach for a digital authentication platform serving the banking sector, along with a consumer-facing app. This position combines technical leadership and hands-on quality engineering, with a strong focus on observability and regulatory compliance in fintech. The Lead QA Engineer will shape and implement scalable QA strategies, maintain automation frameworks, and ensure system reliability during periods of heavy authentication traffic. Developing processes that align with banking and fintech standards is a key part of this role.
This is a full-time position based in Bengaluru, with additional location options in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Strategy and Leadership
- Direct and execute the QA strategy for both B2B authentication systems and consumer applications
- Establish testing standards, release procedures, and risk-based testing frameworks
- Champion automation-first practices in quality assurance
- Create workflows for regression, performance, and security testing
- Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams throughout the software lifecycle
- Lead QA planning, risk assessments, and production sign-off processes
Functional and API Testing
- Design and implement test cases for authentication features, including:
- Multi-factor authentication flows
- OTP validation
- JWT and OAuth-based authentication
- Session management and token expiration
- Role-based access control (RBAC)
- Perform API validation using tools like Postman or REST Assured
- Test edge cases such as retry logic, rate limiting, and lockout scenarios
- Verify reliability across devices, browsers, and environments
Automation Engineering and CI/CD Integration
- Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks
- Develop UI automation with Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress
- Build API automation pipelines
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
- Ensure broad regression coverage for critical authentication processes
Performance and Load Engineering
- Develop load testing strategies to support high authentication volumes
- Simulate concurrent logins, token generation, and OTP validation spikes
- Utilize tools such as JMeter, k6, or Gatling
- Identify bottlenecks and improve system scalability
Compensation
- Salary range: ₹500,000 - ₹1,000,000 (INR 5-10 LPA)
- Minimum experience required: 2 years
