Role Overview
The Lead Radio Access Network (RAN) Planning role at Jazz shapes the company’s network strategy, focusing on strong performance, reliable capacity, and wide coverage to support business objectives. This position works closely with both internal teams and external partners to guide projects in network expansion, optimization, and technology upgrades. The Lead reports to the Manager of RAN Planning and plays a key part in deploying and improving Jazz’s mobile network infrastructure.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute RAN planning strategies to ensure strong network coverage, capacity, and quality of service.
- Create and manage spectrum strategies, including frequency planning, allocation, and refarming.
- Oversee the design and rollout of new sites, capacity upgrades, and technology enhancements.
- Collaborate with Core, Transmission, Commercial, Finance, and Regulatory teams to align RAN planning with business needs.
- Monitor and analyze network KPIs, driving improvements to enhance customer experience.
- Shape long-term network evolution, including spectrum use and technology migration plans.
- Conduct traffic analysis and forecasting to plan for capacity growth and network densification.
- Develop business cases for network investments, focusing on cost-effectiveness and strategic fit.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with technical standards, SLAs, and budgets.
- Mentor team members, fostering collaboration, innovation, and technical skill development.
- Lead trials, Proof of Concepts, and evaluations of new RAN technologies.
- Report on RAN planning activities, project status, and network performance to senior management.
- Represent Jazz at industry forums, technical groups, and strategic meetings related to RAN planning and development.
