While our Shopify store already exceeds industry conversion averages, we have only begun to explore structured testing and innovative funnel strategies.
As our Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Lead, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our customer journey.
What Success Looks Like
- 30 Days: Conduct a comprehensive audit of our customer journey (ads → pre-lander → product detail page → checkout), create a detailed CRO roadmap, and initiate your first A/B test.
- 90 Days: Execute 3–5 experiments weekly, achieve significant performance improvements in PageFly pre-landers, and set up weekly dashboards to showcase measurable enhancements in Conversion Rate (CVR), Average Order Value (AOV), and Revenue per Session (RPS).
Your Daily Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize complete funnel experiences, including pre-landers, landing pages, product detail pages, cart, and checkout, primarily using Shopify and PageFly.
- Implement and evaluate A/B and multivariate tests utilizing tools such as Optimizely, VWO, or Google Optimize.
- Analyze data from GA4, Shopify analytics, Hotjar/Clarity, and session recordings to derive insights and prioritize testing initiatives.
- Utilize AI tools to create HTML/JS snippets for efficient builds, determine when to work independently versus collaborating with developers.
- Craft and refine copy, including headlines, product positioning, and microcopy, to maximize conversions.
- Manage weekly KPI reporting and convert learnings into actionable hypotheses.
- Develop a comprehensive CRO playbook to document your successes (and failures) into scalable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) with direct-to-consumer (DTC) or marketplace brands, particularly in beauty or wellness.
- Extensive expertise in Shopify, including theme customization, Liquid programming, metafields, and app integration.
- Mastery of PageFly (or equivalent builder), capable of wireframing, building, quality assurance, and launching pages live.
- Proven track record of enhancing CVR and AOV (prior success stories are a plus).
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for increased efficiency and independence.
- Proficient in analytics tools such as GA4, Looker, and ideally have foundational SQL knowledge.
- Strong communication skills to advocate for test concepts and decisively eliminate ineffective ideas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in scaling subscription or replenishment funnels.
- Knowledge of Klaviyo, Postscript, or other post-purchase upselling platforms.
- Comfort utilizing AI content and coding tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot).
- Understanding of affiliate marketing or influencer funnel redesign.
