QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED is required. Associate's degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor's degree is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department, as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal. Familiarity with Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, or similar injury-related practice areas is preferred.

Role Overview

The Baltimore office is seeking a Litigation Assistant to support daily law firm operations. This position provides key administrative support to legal teams and helps keep cases moving. The role suits someone with a strong work ethic, solid problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt as priorities shift.

What You Will Do

  • Schedule hearings, track deadlines, and coordinate logistics for legal matters.
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes for cases.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
  • Improve administrative processes to support efficient workflows.
  • Collect, review, and categorize evidence and legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
  • Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, including pleadings and contracts.
  • Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with report preparation, case files, and legal guidance.
  • Manage client billing: prepare, finalize, and distribute bills, and resolve billing questions with the billing attorney.
  • Coordinate meetings, interviews, and depositions with clients and witnesses.
  • Maintain documents in both paper and electronic filing systems.
  • Handle other related duties as business needs arise.
