Role Overview
The Baltimore office is seeking a Litigation Assistant to support daily law firm operations. This position provides key administrative support to legal teams and helps keep cases moving. The role suits someone with a strong work ethic, solid problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt as priorities shift.
What You Will Do
- Schedule hearings, track deadlines, and coordinate logistics for legal matters.
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes for cases.
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
- Improve administrative processes to support efficient workflows.
- Collect, review, and categorize evidence and legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
- Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, including pleadings and contracts.
- Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with report preparation, case files, and legal guidance.
- Manage client billing: prepare, finalize, and distribute bills, and resolve billing questions with the billing attorney.
- Coordinate meetings, interviews, and depositions with clients and witnesses.
- Maintain documents in both paper and electronic filing systems.
- Handle other related duties as business needs arise.
