Springboard has recently introduced a comprehensive 16-week online training program designed for individuals aspiring to become clinical medical assistants. This course equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to successfully pass the NHA’s CCMA exam, paving their way into externship opportunities and full-time medical assistant roles. We are seeking a dedicated Live Course Instructor to enhance the self-directed learning aspects of this program.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct two engaging live sessions each week for a duration of 15 weeks (covering 13 weeks of didactic content and 2 weeks of exam preparation), each lasting 1 hour.
- Allocate time for independent preparation for live sessions (up to 4 additional hours weekly).
- Design and refine lecture materials as necessary.
- During Weeks 1-13, lead sessions that reinforce essential concepts from the curriculum while facilitating student Q&A. Additionally, assist with course announcements and other logistical details at the start and end of sessions.
- Incorporate interactive learning tools, such as Kahoot, to gamify the educational experience.
- During the two exam preparation weeks, additional office hours may be requested.
- Respond to student inquiries through Course Advisors (via email) requiring medical assisting expertise within specified service level agreements (SLA).
- Monitor Canvas discussion boards to address weekly student interactions and questions.
- Weekly assignment grading may also be a component of your responsibilities.
- Utilize your subject matter expertise to deliver CCMA-aligned education online, focusing on:
- Critical clinical skill development for certified clinical medical assistants
- Medical Terminology and Anatomy & Physiology
- Healthcare Administration
- Best practices in Clinical Communication
- Content appropriateness for entry-level medical assistant training
- The scope of practice for medical assistants
- Techniques for providing skill-based training outside of a lab or clinical environment, enabling home learning.
- Distinguishing between essential and supplementary knowledge for CCMA trainees.
- Collaborate with Springboard's Learning Experience team and Instructional Designers to adapt session content as needed.
- Address other emerging needs as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in clinical medical assisting or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
