Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in design and compliance with class society regulations. Experience with a diverse range of vessel sizes and types in the marine sector, including military vessels, high-speed craft, and large commercial ships. Strong foundation in core marine design principles, encompassing naval architecture, structures, mechanical, and electrical systems. In-depth knowledge of marine standards, processes, and regulations including ABS, DNV, LR, USCG, RINA, and others.

Job Overview

We are on the lookout for a skilled and enthusiastic Marine Compliance Engineer to contribute to the design, analysis, and development of autonomous surface vessels. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both traditional ship design and advanced autonomous technologies, making a significant impact in the realm of defense innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance to the engineering team on relevant maritime standards and regulations.
  • Assist the reliability engineering team in defining and tracking requirements.
  • Engage in systems engineering activities, including concept development, system design, integration, and testing.
  • Conduct internal audits for compliance with maritime standards before submitting drawings to class societies or flag state bodies.
  • Manage and respond to feedback from class society reviews.
  • Act as a subject matter expert throughout the engineering design cycle to ensure adherence to hardware and analysis best practices.
  • Develop and uphold engineering design best practices to streamline workflows.
  • Research and remain informed about advancements in naval architecture, marine engineering, autonomous technology, and defense requirements.
  • Maintain current technical documentation related to system requirements, testing, verification, and validation processes.
