About the job
Are you a passionate materials science expert ready to influence the future of artificial intelligence? As large-scale language models transition from basic chatbots to robust tools for scientific exploration, your role is pivotal. High-quality training data is essential for these advancements, and your expertise will help shape AI into a catalyst for world-class education, accelerate cutting-edge research, and optimize laboratory workflows for scientists everywhere.
We are seeking specialists in materials science and engineering who are well-versed in areas such as crystallography, thermomechanical processing, nanomaterials, polymer science, electronic materials, biomaterials, corrosion science, and composite development. In this role, you will engage with advanced language models to discuss phase transformations, microstructure-property relationships, materials characterization techniques (such as XRD, SEM, TEM), thermal analysis, additive manufacturing, materials failure analysis, and sustainability in materials engineering. Your documentation of failure modes will enhance the model's reasoning capabilities.
On a typical day, you will interact with the model regarding laboratory scenarios and theoretical materials science inquiries, verify factual accuracy and logical reasoning, capture reproducible error traces, and provide suggestions for refining our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.
A PhD in materials science, materials engineering, or a related physical science field is preferred. Experience with peer-reviewed publications, lab-based testing, product design utilizing advanced materials, or applied research will demonstrate your suitability. Exceptional communication skills, especially in articulating your thought processes, are essential.
Are you ready to transform your materials science expertise into the foundation for tomorrow’s AI? Apply today and begin teaching the model that will educate the world.
