The Materials Specialist plays a crucial role in our operations by ensuring the precise receipt, storage, and distribution of materials. This position is vital for maintaining accurate inventory levels, which in turn supports efficient production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials to confirm they meet specified requirements, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and shipping documents while reporting any discrepancies.
  • Organize materials in designated areas utilizing appropriate material-handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and update storage locations as required.
  • Efficiently retrieve materials for various production jobs and ensure timely distribution.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date inventory records within the ERP system.
  • Safely transport materials throughout the warehouse to the production line.
  • Comply with safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and equipment operation guidelines.
  • Engage in monthly cycle counts and assist with the annual physical inventory process.
  • Keep the warehouse and workspaces clean, organized, and compliant with company and safety standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Ability to operate material-handling equipment (forklift certification is a plus).
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Capacity to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs and to stand or walk for extended periods (over five hours).
  • Work Environment:
    • Fast-paced warehouse manufacturing environment.
    • Potential for overtime, shift work, or weekend hours based on production requirements.
    • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and warehouse equipment.
