The Mechanical Analyst Engineer at Oklo will focus on analyzing mechanical components as part of our power plant design process. This position is perfect for a mechanical engineer who excels at tackling complex challenges using first-principles reasoning, performing rapid hand calculations, and utilizing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) when necessary. Your contributions will be vital to the advancement and optimization of mechanical designs, collaborating closely with design, manufacturing, and testing teams, as well as coordinating with external vendors for additional analytical support.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid grounding in fundamental mechanics and materials strength, with additional proficiency in dynamics, creep, fatigue, and heat transfer. A critical aspect of this role includes producing clear, traceable, and reviewable documentation of analytical work and leveraging your findings to recommend design modifications or subsequent actions. Additionally, you will help develop and maintain in-house analysis methodologies and best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough mechanical analyses at various fidelity levels, from hand calculations and textbook formulas to detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Collaborate with design teams to enhance mechanical component design.
