Key Responsibilities
In charge of designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies for data collection hardware and robotic devices.
Rapidly prototype, test, and refine designs using 3D printing, CNC machining, and manual fabrication techniques.
Engage in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) to transition designs from low-volume prototypes to high-volume production.
Source components and collaborate closely with machine shops and contract manufacturers to ensure timely and precise production of parts.
Conduct basic analyses including tolerance, structural, and thermal assessments to support design validation.
Create specifications and accelerated test plans to ensure product longevity and reliability.
Support documentation efforts for design reviews and testing phases.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, industrial design) to consolidate design requirements and integrate mechanical systems effectively.
