Job Overview
We are on the lookout for an adept Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. At Saronic, our engineering specialists take pride in delivering creative solutions to complex mechanical challenges. Serving as mentors to both our engineering and production teams, our marine mechanical engineers are deeply involved in comprehensive design and analysis processes, leveraging their robust engineering principles alongside a first-principles approach. The ideal candidate will possess experience throughout the engineering design lifecycle, transitioning mechanical solutions from initial concept through to full production.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of hardware across the complete engineering design lifecycle: defining design criteria, executing both preliminary and final designs, conducting design reviews, prototyping, and validating designs via rigorous analysis and testing.
Create innovative mechanical solutions utilizing diverse fabrication techniques, including sheet metal forming, machining, welding, mechanical fastening, and bonding.
Generate detailed engineering drawings to document hardware designs, adhering to ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
Conduct stress and mechanical tolerance studies, develop comprehensive testing protocols, and produce detailed test reports to capture analytical results.
Establish testing methods to validate product capabilities, ensuring alignment with both internal and customer design specifications.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in designing, analyzing, and testing intricate mechanical systems.
Solid foundation in essential engineering principles, including solid mechanics, machine design, statics, materials science, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
Demonstrated expertise in product development across the entire product lifecycle.
Proficient in CAD and finite element analysis software, including SolidWorks and FEMAP.
A track record of successfully developing innovative solutions to a wide array of mechanical engineering challenges.
