The Mechanical Engineer II is instrumental in the design and implementation of HVAC and mechanical utility systems for sophisticated building projects. This role spans all project phases, from initial studies through to construction administration, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, code-compliant solutions for our clients.
Your responsibilities will include conducting engineering calculations, developing detailed mechanical system designs, preparing comprehensive reports and specifications, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, and mentoring junior team members. Utilizing state-of-the-art BIM, CAD, and engineering software, you will help realize innovative, efficient, and buildable solutions.

Core Responsibilities
Technical Design & Analysis
- Conduct load calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, and code compliance evaluations.
- Design mechanical systems (airside, chilled water, condenser water, hot water, steam, natural gas, compressed air, etc.) while effectively coordinating with other disciplines.
- Size mechanical equipment, ductwork, and piping; create system schematics and technical design documentation.
- Generate plans, P&IDs, schedules, and installation details utilizing BIM and CAD tools.
Project Execution
- Develop design and construction drawing packages; refine specifications for projects ranging from basic to moderate complexity.
- Support all design phases: conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
- Participate in squad checks and uphold a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality deliverables.
Client & Team Collaboration
- Engage with clients, contractors, trade partners, and equipment manufacturers.
- Address RFIs, review submittals, contribute to punch lists, and assist with construction progress documentation.
- Work in close partnership with senior engineers to ensure coordinated, buildable designs.
- Mentor and delegate tasks to Mechanical Designer I and other early-career team members.

- Broaden technical skills to include the design and specification of increasingly complex mechanical systems.
