About the Role
We are in search of a skilled Mechanical Technician specializing in prototyping to assist in the realization of next-generation autonomous systems. This hands-on role emphasizes the transformation of design concepts into tangible, functional prototypes, allowing you to rapidly convert engineering ideas into testable hardware.
You will collaborate closely with engineers to fabricate, assemble, and refine early-stage prototypes under tight deadlines. Many of the systems you will be working on will be groundbreaking, requiring strong intuition, adaptability, and a strong inclination towards execution.
This position is perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is excited to see their contributions tested in real-world applications almost immediately.
What You Will Do
- Fabricate and assemble prototype hardware utilizing both traditional and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Operate machinery including 3D printers and CNC machines to create custom components.
- Engage in hands-on assembly tasks involving bonding, fastening, and structural constructions.
- Conduct swift prototyping cycles to validate mechanical concepts and designs.
- Collaborate directly with engineering teams to enhance designs based on real-world testing and feedback.
- Support the build, integration, and testing of autonomous systems.
Who You Are
The Builder
You have a passion for hands-on work and take pride in making physical systems a reality. Whether through your professional background or personal projects, you know how to construct durable and functional hardware.
The Generalist
You are comfortable navigating various tools, materials, and techniques. You don’t require everything to be defined in advance, you can figure things out and move forward independently.
The Operator
You excel in fast-paced environments where priorities can shift and timelines are tight. You are driven by the opportunity to see hardware progress from concept to testing in mere days or weeks, rather than months.
