Role overview

This mid-career electrical engineering position centers on harness design for spacecraft and test environments. The role is based in Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA. Harness assemblies connect critical electronics and power subsystems, including propulsion, guidance, navigation, and telemetry. Effective harnessing is vital to spacecraft performance and reliability.

What you will do

  • Develop 3D harness routes, considering bend radii, separation, and maintainability. Manage technical trade studies as needed.
  • Create electrical interconnect diagrams and schematics, defining point-to-point connections for power, signals, and data. Apply grounding and shielding principles throughout designs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, program management, production, and quality assurance teams to build 3D harness models in SolidWorks.
  • Analyze harnesses to confirm they meet quality and reliability requirements.
  • Develop test equipment for IR/DWV testing.
  • Design and integrate harness routing within both spacecraft and test setups.
  • Support production and quality teams in resolving issues and ensuring builds match design intent.
  • Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and use ERP systems to coordinate production activities.
