Ice Miller LLP is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced associate to join our dynamic team as a Mid-Level Construction Litigation Associate. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in construction law and litigation, demonstrating a strong capability to represent clients across a wide array of construction-related matters. This includes contract drafting and negotiation, proactive claims management throughout project construction, claims avoidance, mediation, arbitration, and litigation, along with various project development issues. Familiarity with mechanic’s lien claims will be considered an advantage.
The successful applicant will be expected to handle the following responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice to clients on construction-related transactional matters and perform claims analysis.
- Support the review, drafting, and negotiation of contracts.
- Conduct thorough legal research and create pleadings, motions, contracts, and other essential legal documents.
- Engage in developing construction claims strategies, both pre-dispute and during litigation/arbitration, including discovery, motion practice, and case management.
- Collaborate effectively with attorneys across various practice groups and offices.
- Receive ongoing training with opportunities for increased responsibility and career advancement.
