QUALIFICATIONSRequired ExperienceA valid Tennessee teaching license or proof of enrollment in a job-embedded Educator Preparation Program. A conferred Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Successful completion of a criminal background check. Desired QualitiesA strong commitment to working with students from educationally under-resourced communities (highly preferred). Demonstrated success in teaching students from educationally under-resourced backgrounds (highly preferred). At least two years of teaching experience (preferred). A passion for data-driven instruction. An unwavering commitment to KIPP Nashville’s mission, core values, students, families, and community. An enthusiasm for fostering student growth and providing an excellent education.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Middle School Science Teacher for the 2026-27 school year at KIPP Nashville, you will engage and empower students through innovative curriculum development and effective instructional practices. Your daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Curriculum Development and Instruction

  • Design and implement engaging instructional strategies tailored to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of each student.

  • Utilize progress-monitoring tools to assess student performance and adapt strategies accordingly.

  • Leverage data to inform instructional decisions and enhance student learning outcomes.

  • Provide constructive feedback to students on their academic and character development.

  • Exhibit strong pedagogical practices that foster a love of learning.

Commitment to School and Classroom Culture

  • Collaborate effectively with your school team and other educators within KIPP Nashville.

  • Contribute to the development of a positive school culture that meets the needs of students, teachers, and families.

  • Attend all staff meetings and maintain open communication with colleagues.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students to support their growth.

  • Create a calm and positive learning environment.

  • Uphold school values and policies while managing student behavior.
