Mission Engineering Intern (Fall 2026)

Our internship program spans twelve weeks and is tailored for students currently enrolled in a four-year university. As an intern, you will tackle complex challenges, everyone at Astranis is given the chance to contribute meaningfully to projects, regardless of experience level. Many of our former interns have played pivotal roles in designing and testing hardware/software for our initial five satellites and have transitioned into full-time positions with us.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong background in aerospace projects and proficiency in Python.

Role Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with mission engineers to develop, test, and implement satellite operations procedures, including commissioning protocols and standard operational procedures.
  • Analyze anomalies and work alongside the mission operations and engineering teams to resolve them safely.
  • Engage in commanding activities for our first five operational spacecraft.
  • Assist in the creation of tools and processes that ensure the Mission Operations team maintains exceptional service uptime for our customers.
  • Automate manual tasks through scripting and software solutions.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a B. S. degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Python scripting.
  • Basic knowledge of satellite systems.
  • Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently.
