Network Engineer

CGS Federal is on the lookout for a skilled Network Engineer to become a vital part of our team dedicated to assessing, improving, and maintaining an extensive network project that integrates both wired and wireless infrastructure along with related hardware and software. This role involves evaluating existing fragmented networks and designing a comprehensive network infrastructure that meets all wireless, wired, and software networking needs. The position also entails providing expert consultation on the requisite hardware and software, as well as conducting systems testing, vulnerability assessments, and quality assurance to ensure a successful implementation of the new infrastructure. The Network Engineer will collaborate closely with state and local government officials, internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendors responsible for development services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the NPS network infrastructure;
- Enhance infrastructure monitoring and reporting capabilities through the deployment of network management software;
- Create, maintain, and deliver documentation related to the network infrastructure within the NPS environment;
- Analyze current best practices and offer recommendations for the architecture, design, management, and operation of the network infrastructure;
- Manage Cloudpath (or equivalent) onboarding processes, monitor and troubleshoot wireless network health, maintain wireless infrastructure, and implement security patches and software/firmware updates from 0800 to 1700 PST, Monday to Friday;
- Evaluate the NPS network infrastructure and propose improvements and optimizations;
- Define and execute testing procedures for new infrastructure components.
