Join our dynamic team at staff4me as a Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer, where your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of our network infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in monitoring, incident response, escalation management, and providing technical support while adhering to service level agreements (SLAs) and collaborating effectively across various teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Monitoring & Performance:
- Utilize tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, and proprietary systems like Cosmos to monitor network infrastructure.
- Evaluate performance trends, including bandwidth, latency, packet loss, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain monitoring thresholds, alert policies, and ensure compliance with SLA metrics.
Incident & Problem Management:
- Respond promptly to alerts and outages within predefined SLA timeframes.
- Conduct triage and diagnosis, managing the incident lifecycle efficiently.
- Perform root cause analysis and document valuable lessons learned.
- Identify trends and propose preventive measures to enhance network reliability.
Escalation Management:
- Act as the primary escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams.
- Facilitate complex issue escalation to Tier 4 engineers and specialist teams.
- Coordinate vendor support and lead bridge calls during major incidents.
- Manage communication between technical teams, management, and stakeholders throughout incident resolution.
Network Operations & Maintenance:
- Conduct firmware updates, patches, and configuration adjustments as needed.
- Configure routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
- Implement VLANs, access control policies, and VPN connections.
- Oversee change management and routine maintenance activities.
Troubleshooting & Support:
- Diagnose and resolve issues across LAN, WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and wireless networks.
- Troubleshoot routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP).
- Analyze network traffic using tools like Wireshark and tcpdump.
- Address DNS, DHCP, firewall, NAT, and VoIP-related issues.
- Assist with SSID requests, conference issues, and other specialized requests.
Security Operations & Compliance:
- Monitor security event logs and SIEM alerts to identify potential threats or breaches.
- Implement and maintain robust network security policies and access control lists (ACLs).
- Respond to security incidents in coordination with the security operations team.
- Conduct security vulnerability assessments on network devices.
- Ensure adherence to organizational security compliance standards.
