Position Overview
The Neutronics Analysis Engineer will play a key role in defining, developing, and executing both in-core and ex-core neutronics analyses, essential for reactor design, performance assessment, and safety verification. This position requires close collaboration with the design team to gather requirements, establish the parameters for neutronic evaluations, and implement suitable models and methodologies. The areas of focus include criticality, depletion, activation, and shielding analyses. Additionally, this engineer will aid in verification and validation tasks and contribute to licensing and regulatory discussions by delivering technically robust and defensible neutronics analyses.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive support for core design and fuel cycle analysis using Monte Carlo and deterministic codes tailored for Oklo reactors.
- Implement calculations and analyses using Monte Carlo-based codes such as Serpent, MCNP, SCALE, and OpenMC.
- Utilize fast reactor deterministic codes, including DIF3D and PERSENT, for calculations and analyses.
- Assist in the qualification and verification of neutronic analyses, ensuring validation against experimental data and benchmarks.
- Stay informed about international advancements in fast reactor core design and related benchmark calculations and experiments.
- Provide insightful technical feedback to rapidly evolving design teams.
- Document findings using modern tools and create well-crafted, comprehensive technical reports.
