About the job
Are you a passionate expert in nuclear physics ready to influence the future of artificial intelligence? As large-scale language models transition from simple chatbots to dynamic engines of scientific exploration, your expertise is crucial. By providing high-quality training data, you can help democratize top-tier education, align with the forefront of research, and enhance laboratory operations for scientists globally. Your journey in shaping the next generation of AI starts here.
We seek dedicated nuclear physics specialists who are deeply knowledgeable in areas such as nuclear structure, particle interactions, nuclear decay mechanisms, reactor physics, radiation transport, nuclear instrumentation, accelerator physics, and quantum chromodynamics. You will engage with advanced language models on intricate subjects including nuclear reaction mechanisms, fission and fusion processes, neutron scattering, isotope production, nuclear spectroscopy, and high-energy particle detection, meticulously documenting any failure modes to refine model reasoning.
On a daily basis, you will interact with the model on experimental nuclear physics scenarios and theoretical inquiries, ensuring factual accuracy and logical integrity, capturing reproducible error patterns, and proposing enhancements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.
A PhD in nuclear physics or a related field is highly desirable; experience with peer-reviewed publications, experimental research, reactor operations, or practical experience with nuclear instrumentation is advantageous. Exceptional communication skills are essential, with an emphasis on clear, metacognitive explanations, “showing your work.”
Are you ready to leverage your nuclear physics expertise to contribute to the knowledge base of future AI? Apply today and help educate the model that will educate the world.
