Qualifications

Equipment: Late model equipment that meets Altom’s inspection standards. Licenses: Valid CDL Class A License. Tanker Endorsement: Required (N). Hazmat Endorsement: Preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire; assistance available). TWIC Card: Preferred (or must obtain after hire). Experience: Minimum 1 year of verifiable tanker driving experience. Age Requirement: At least 23 years old. Driving Record: Clean MVR and a strong safety record. Health Requirements: Able to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check. Work Ethic: Dependable, safety-minded, and capable of working independently. Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 operations if necessary.

Key Responsibilities

As an Owner Operator Driver with Altom Transport, you are not just a driver; you are a business owner and a valued partner in our operation. Your responsibilities include:

  • Safe Transportation: Transport chemical and petroleum products using tank trailers while complying with DOT regulations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure your truck meets all inspection standards and remains in peak condition for successful long-haul operations.
  • Loading & Unloading: Adhere to proper procedures for ISO/Flexi-Bag or Tanker operations during loading and delivery.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, submit necessary paperwork, and comply with Hazmat regulations.
  • Customer Service: Represent Altom Transport professionally at all customer locations.
  • Business Management: Oversee fuel purchases, trip planning, and scheduling to optimize revenue.
  • Ensure a steady workload by meeting mileage or hour requirements, contributing to the overall operational success.
  • 24/7 Availability – Be prepared to be available around the clock when needed.
