This position requires working on various active construction sites; therefore, candidates should enjoy fieldwork and be capable of working independently and responsibly.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular on-site observations of environmental remediation projects during abatement/construction to ensure high-quality work by engineers, consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors.Perform various related tasks such as hazard assessments, surveys, submittal reviews, abatement plan specifications, asbestos and lead sampling, and review of survey reports.Engage with team members regarding environmental inquiries that arise from project plans, drawings, and construction issues.Generate detailed reports related to assigned tasks.Assist in the creation, organization, and dissemination of technical data.RequirementsWork assignments may vary and could include access to containment areas. Proper personal protective equipment is mandatory in the field, including respirators, suits, boots, gloves, hard hats, and eye protection.Frequent travel may be necessary, utilizing rental vehicles, company vehicles, or personal cars, potentially including overnight stays at accommodations. Job duties may involve exposure to diverse weather, loud environments, heights, and safety hazards typical at construction sites. Candidates must pass an annual physical examination to confirm their ability to wear a respirator. Flexibility to work modified schedules or extended hours when required is essential.Preferred Qualifications:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a Science, Engineering, or Construction-related field.1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.Current NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector certifications are highly desirable.Current NYSDOL Project Monitor/Air Technician certification preferred.Current USEPA Lead Inspector certification preferred.
