As a Staff Accountant, you will be crucial in maintaining precise financial records, ensuring compliance, and safeguarding the integrity of our financial data.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.- Ensure adherence to GAAP principles for accuracy and compliance.- Manage adjusting entries, depreciation, and amortization schedules.- General Ledger Management- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts effectively.- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately.Reconciliations- Conduct regular bank and account reconciliations.- Timely research and resolve discrepancies.Compliance & Controls- Manage state permits and sales tax registrations.- Assist with the filing of monthly sales tax returns.- Stay informed on changes in accounting and tax legislation.Additional Responsibilities- Prepare commission schedules for the sales team.- Provide support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed.- Assist with periodic physical inventory checks and adjustments.- Generate ad-hoc reports and conduct financial analysis as required.Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.- 3–5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles.- Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.- Familiarity with job costing concepts is preferred.- Awareness of relevant tax laws and regulations.- Ability to manage sensitive financial information with discretion.
