About the job

Elmhurst University seeks part-time adjunct faculty to join the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry starting in late August 2026. Instructors will teach undergraduate courses, which may include lectures and laboratory sessions in general chemistry, biochemistry for pre-nursing majors (General or Organic and Biochemistry), or general education chemistry. Depending on experience and credentials, teaching organic chemistry labs for science majors may also be available.

Department context

The department supports 40-50 chemistry and biochemistry majors and a similar number of minors each year. Faculty also teach and mentor students from related disciplines such as biology, nursing, exercise science, physics, and environmental studies. Elmhurst University’s chemistry and biochemistry programs are endorsed by the American Chemical Society.
