Chamberlain College of Nursing is actively seeking a dedicated Part-Time Clinical Nursing Faculty member to join our esteemed BSN Nursing program. This position involves mentoring future nursing professionals in an inpatient clinical setting in the Detroit or Lansing areas.
As a Clinical Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in connecting theoretical knowledge with practical patient care experiences, ensuring our students are well-prepared and confident in delivering exceptional healthcare.
We welcome applications from nurses with robust clinical backgrounds and an MSN degree. Teaching experience is not a prerequisite!
Scheduling:
- Schedules are based on course needs and clinical specialties for each 8-week session.
- Instructors typically work 3-4 consecutive 12-hour shifts over 1-2 weeks per session, but additional dates may not always be available.
Fundamental Nursing Skills Lab:
This course introduces students to the essential skills in professional nursing, covering topics such as drug administration, health assessment, patient mobility, and patient education. Instructors will integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications through nursing diagnosis, care planning, and patient evaluation.

Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Curriculum Implementation
- Execute the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through hands-on clinical teaching.
- Manage individual teaching loads independently.
- Plan clinical experiences and supervise nursing students effectively.
- Student Evaluation and Support
- Develop and assign clinical tasks tailored to students' knowledge and skill levels.
- Provide constructive feedback on student performance aligned with course objectives.
- Assist students with remediation as needed.
- Timely assessment and return of assignments and evaluations.
- Clinical Coordination
- Orient new clinical sites and ensure compliance with educational standards.
