Newton Europe is hiring a People Operations Advisor for a 6-month fixed-term contract based in London. This role calls for an experienced HR generalist to provide practical guidance and support to managers and employees. The position involves managing a varied caseload of People-related issues, ensuring each is handled fairly and in line with Newton's values. The aim is to strengthen the People Operations function and improve the overall employee experience.
What You Will Do
- Self-Service & Automation: Identify frequent challenges and high-volume queries, then design and implement self-service tools and automation to improve the experience for managers and employees.
- Process, Policy & Template Development: Map, simplify, and document end-to-end People processes. Create and maintain clear policies, playbooks, and templates for consistent execution.
- Knowledge Management for Chatbot: Turn recurring questions and case insights into structured articles and chatbot content so guidance is accurate, accessible, and consistent.
- Case Advisory: Manage a portfolio of People queries and cases, offering clear, actionable advice and ensuring timely, well-documented resolutions.
- Employee Relations Support: Advise managers on wellbeing, performance, disciplinary, and grievance matters. Use sound judgment and escalate complex cases when needed.
- Operational Support: Work with the People Administrator to keep day-to-day People Operations running smoothly. Provide cover and hands-on support for core processes as required.
- International Process Implementation: Help document and embed international People processes to ensure clarity and consistency across locations.
- Data Management & Reporting: Keep accurate records in People systems, handle data confidentially, and support operational reporting to drive improvements.
How You’ll Work
This role involves close collaboration with team members and other functions. Expect to structure and document knowledge for HR tools, including the chatbot and knowledge base, so advice is easy to find and apply. The position also supports the implementation of new processes, especially as Newton expands internationally. Day-to-day, the People Operations Advisor acts as an ambassador for the People function, combining strong HR judgment with a practical, delivery-focused approach and a drive for ongoing improvement.
