Our quantum computers leverage the fundamental principles of quantum mechanics, enabling them to tackle problems that traditional supercomputers and AI cannot solve. The potential impact of quantum computing is vast, influencing sectors such as energy, pharmaceuticals, finance, agriculture, transportation, and materials.
Our innovative architecture is grounded in silicon photonics, capitalizing on advanced semiconductor manufacturing techniques used by partners like GlobalFoundries. This allows us to employ high-volume production processes, similar to those used for billions of chips in telecommunications and consumer electronics. Photonics provides distinct advantages: photons are not affected by heat, are resistant to electromagnetic interference, and integrate seamlessly with existing cryogenic cooling and fiber-optic infrastructure.
In 2024, PsiQuantum initiated government-funded projects aimed at establishing our first utility-scale quantum computers in Brisbane, Australia, and Chicago, Illinois. These projects underscore the emerging recognition of quantum computing's strategic and economic significance, emphasizing the urgency to scale.
We also focus on developing the necessary algorithms and software to ensure that these systems deliver commercial value. Our application, software, and industry teams collaborate closely with leading Fortune 500 companies, including Lockheed Martin, Mercedes-Benz, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Mitsubishi Chemical, to prepare quantum solutions for tangible real-world applications.
