The Academy of Medical Sciences is excited to announce the opening of applications for our esteemed Policy Internship Scheme for the period of 2026/27. This unique opportunity is aimed at all UK-based PhD students who are currently enrolled in a funded PhD program, allowing them to gain invaluable experience through a 12-week internship.
Note: MRC-funded candidates should apply via our specialized AMS/MRC internship scheme.
Our policy internship is crafted to provide students with direct exposure to the medical science policy landscape, offering insights into the significant impact research can have on policy-making. Interns will also have the chance to establish essential connections with some of the UK’s leading medical scientists and influential stakeholders in the science and health sectors. Internship Duration: 12 weeks, from July 2026 to June 2027. We encourage early applications as they will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
