About the job
About the Arc Institute
The Arc Institute is an innovative research organization dedicated to pioneering curiosity-driven science and technology development aimed at understanding and addressing complex human diseases. Located in the vibrant city of Palo Alto, California, we partner with esteemed institutions such as Stanford University, UCSF, and UC Berkeley to push the boundaries of scientific inquiry.
We are committed to reimagining traditional research paradigms, believing that a fresh institutional approach can significantly advance impactful research. Key elements of our strategy include:
- Funding: Our Core Investigators (PIs) receive comprehensive funding for their research groups, freeing scientists from the limitations of project-based grants.
- Technology: We recognize the growing reliance on sophisticated tools in biomedical research. Our Technology Centers focus on developing and optimizing cutting-edge experimental and computational technologies in collaboration with our Core Investigators.
- Support: We provide exceptional operational, financial, and scientific support to empower scientists to undertake long-term, high-risk research that has the potential to lead to significant advancements in the treatment of diseases, including neurodegeneration, cancer, and immune dysfunction.
- Culture: We believe that a strong scientific culture is essential for sustained excellence. Our aim is to cultivate an environment characterized by scientific curiosity, an unwavering commitment to truth, ambitious goals, and collaborative spirit.
With a team of over 350 individuals and more than $650M in committed funding, we continue to expand rapidly, supported by a state-of-the-art laboratory facility in Palo Alto.
