Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (negotiable based on experience) per annum + travel expenses
Hours: 42.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Location: Doncaster (primarily office-based) with frequent travel to London.

The Opportunity
We are excited to announce a recruitment opportunity for a Pre-Construction / Bid Manager on behalf of a reputable and expanding construction subcontractor specializing in high-quality packages for major commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects across London.
This newly established role is crucial in managing the initial stages of the project lifecycle. The successful applicant will have complete ownership of bid leadership, cost management, and proposal development, enabling senior management to focus on strategic objectives while significantly impacting profitability and project success.
This position is fast-paced and requires a hands-on approach, making it perfect for individuals who thrive on problem-solving, value engineering, and collaboration with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
The Role
You will oversee the entire bid and pre-construction process from inquiry to submission, ensuring that project pricing is accurate, competitive, and intelligent.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and owning the complete bid process from initial inquiry to final submission.
- Collaborating closely with Sales, Business Development, and Estimating teams to win new contracts.
- Meticulously analyzing RFPs, drawings, and specifications.
- Creating transparent, robust, and defensible cost plans and budgets.
- Managing supplier and subcontractor pricing, including bid leveling and comparisons.
- Proactively identifying commercial and technical risks and mitigating potential cost exposures.
- Driving value engineering initiatives to enhance margins and competitiveness.
- Participating in client meetings to refine designs, specifications, and budgets.
- Coordinating pre-sale samples, finishes, and ironmongery options.
- Maintaining accuracy and quality while managing tight deadlines.
