Data Science at Marshmallow
Our Data Science team collaborates across various departments to transform data into informed decisions, enhanced products, and streamlined customer experiences. We partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to develop and implement models and AI systems that are dependable in production and yield measurable results.
In this role within Data Science, you will focus on Claims, particularly Claims Fraud, and drive our vision to further automate the claims process. This area represents a vital interaction point for our customers, and we seek a Principal Data Scientist capable of providing technical direction in both traditional Machine Learning and Generative AI. You will apply systemic thinking to scale decision-making processes and confidently assess proposals to ensure we build resilient and sustainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical initiatives within data science for Claims Fraud, influencing risk decision-making and fraud detection in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.
Design, develop, and refine production ML and Generative AI/LLM systems that facilitate claims validation and automation.
Work closely with fellow Claims data scientists to incorporate systemic thinking regarding the integration of models, data, and workflows, pinpointing architectural enhancements necessary to scale decision-making and accelerate time-to-production.
Advocate for essential platform and tooling investments (monitoring, feedback loops, QA) required to accomplish AI-driven end-to-end claims automation.
Champion the development of robust, scalable, and strategic solutions that address the challenges within our claims processes.
