Overall Objectives
The Principal Lead for Data Platforms Operations is pivotal in ensuring the consistent availability, reliability, and optimal performance of enterprise data platforms. This role encompasses managing daily production operations, facilitating regular service reviews with various business lines, and overseeing incident and problem management initiatives. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital link between technical teams and business stakeholders, driving operational excellence and fostering continuous improvement.
Role-Specific Responsibilities
- Guarantee high availability and performance of data platforms across both on-premise and cloud environments.
- Conduct regular service review meetings with business lines to address incidents, challenges, and service performance metrics.
- Lead incident and problem management processes, including root cause analysis and tracking of resolutions.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, Data Platforms, and Data Engineering teams to troubleshoot operational issues.
- Implement and uphold operational best practices, focusing on change management and release governance.
- Assist with audit and compliance requirements related to production operations.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance platform stability and service quality.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to members of the production support team.
General Functional Responsibilities
- Promote ongoing enhancements in production process frameworks.
- Foster strong engagement with the wider bank’s service management teams to achieve operational and process improvement objectives.
