Expertise in overhead line engineering (ideally up to 400kV). Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Your Responsibilities:

In this pivotal role, you will be a key member of our Transmission & Distribution team, actively leading and collaborating with clients to deliver technically challenging overhead line design projects.

Your main responsibilities as the Principal OHL Engineer will include providing technical support and overseeing the design of transmission projects. This team will manage various projects involving overhead transmission lines up to 400kV.

  • Deliver technical support for overhead line design on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Engage in substantial work programs, including GGP projects.
  • Assist in drafting proposals and detailing all project aspects, including timelines, resources, budgets, objectives, and goals.
  • Provide technical support throughout project implementation, statutory planning, and participation in public consultation events.
  • Manage design activities related to overhead lines, which include PLS-CADD modeling, precise line routing, thorough structural analysis and loading trees, formulation of design criteria, accurate sag-tension calculations, insulator/conductor blowout, swing angle, damper system recommendations, strategic structural spotting, comprehensive clearance reports, and optimal conductor and insulator selection.
  • Support feasibility studies, conduct conductor thermal ratings, and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct analyses to identify technically optimal solutions/layouts to present to clients.
  • Originate and verify engineering deliverables, such as complex designs, reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages.
  • Perform internal quality checks on engineering drawings and calculations.
