Quantum computing leverages quantum mechanics to tackle problems beyond the reach of even the most powerful supercomputers or AI technologies. Its transformative potential spans multiple industries, including energy, pharmaceuticals, finance, agriculture, transportation, and materials science.
Our innovative architecture is rooted in silicon photonics, utilizing advanced semiconductor manufacturing techniques in collaboration with partners like GlobalFoundries. This allows us to harness high-volume production processes that have already yielded billions of chips for telecommunications and consumer electronics. Photonics offers intrinsic scalability advantages: photons are unaffected by heat, immune to electromagnetic interference, and seamlessly integrate with existing cryogenic cooling and standard fiber-optic systems.
In 2024, PsiQuantum launched government-supported projects aimed at developing our inaugural utility-scale quantum computers in Brisbane, Australia, and Chicago, Illinois. These initiatives underscore the urgent recognition that quantum computing will be both strategically and economically pivotal, making it essential for rapid scaling.
Additionally, we are committed to developing the algorithms and software necessary to ensure these systems deliver commercial value. Our application and software teams collaborate closely with leading Fortune 500 companies such as Lockheed Martin, Mercedes-Benz, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Mitsubishi Chemical, preparing quantum solutions for real-world applications.
