About the Role:
We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to spearhead the development of API-first product platforms at AlphaSense. You will play a pivotal role in creating platforms that support various product interfaces, integrations, and intelligent workflows.
In this position, your focus will be on crafting platforms as products: building well-designed APIs, establishing clear contracts, ensuring robust reliability, and developing a roadmap that reflects genuine product requirements. These platforms will be utilized by internal product teams and external integrations, including AI agents.
This role uniquely blends hands-on engineering with cross-functional technical leadership. You will remain engaged with the codebase while shaping the design, evolution, and adoption of product platforms throughout the organization. Collaboration with multiple teams and domains will be key as you align long-term technical strategies while owning end-to-end systems. This position is not about people management or merely providing architectural advice; we are looking for a Principal who thrives on building, prototyping, iterating, and resolving complex challenges in production environments.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the technical owner and multiplier for API-first architecture across the organization.
- Design, construct, and enhance high-scale APIs utilized by internal teams, external customers, and AI-driven agents.
