Join our innovative and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Principal Wastewater Modeller. You will have the flexibility to work from one of our offices located in the UK or Ireland while enjoying the benefits of our hybrid working model.
In this vital role, you will be instrumental in executing significant water projects both across the UK and internationally. Our work encompasses the creation of large-scale flood alleviation schemes, pollution mitigation, and infrastructure developments, which will be crucial for your ongoing professional advancement. One distinct feature of our practice is that our modelling team is fully integrated within broader project teams, allowing modellers to collaborate closely with experts from various disciplines to formulate holistic solutions.
As a recognized leader in Blue-Green infrastructure and nature-based solutions, we serve both public and private sector clients, including Severn Trent, Anglian Water, Northern Ireland Water, the Environment Agency, LLFAs, and other infrastructure providers. We provide Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, Outline Business Cases, hydraulic models, and detailed design solutions. We establish industry standards by offering guidance that sets benchmarks for best practices, keeping AECOM at the cutting edge of the water industry. Your Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development, calibration, and validation of wastewater network models (e.g., InfoWorks ICM or similar software).
- Provide technical leadership and quality assurance across various projects, while guiding comprehensive project teams under general direction.
- Conduct and manage technical and administrative tasks of moderate complexity related to hydrology and groundwater studies as needed to inform wastewater modelling analyses.
- Deliver assignments that may encompass broader hydrology-related disciplines, working within defined project parameters and ensuring professional oversight.
- Analyze intricate datasets and modelling outputs, generating clear, high-quality technical reports and client deliverables.
- Monitor and interpret data to evaluate the effects of upstream activities on wastewater systems and the broader environment, ensuring compliance with relevant permits and regulatory standards.
- Act as the technical lead on major frameworks and modelling initiatives, aiding in strategic planning, storm overflow reduction, and network resilience projects.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, contributing to proposals and business development efforts.
